Dear Henri (2017)
Dear Henri, had its world premiere at the Seattle International Film Festival on May 27, 2017. It has been an official selection at more than ten festivals worldwide, including NY Shorts, Boston International Kids Festival, TIFF Kids International in Toronto, and Uppsala International Shorts in Sweden.
DEAR HENRI is a short film directed by Matthew Sandager and written by Matthew Burgess. It combines live action with stop-motion animation to tell the story of nine-year-old Henri who recently lost her beloved namesake and pen pal, Grandpa Henry. One summer day, Henri “sends” a series of letters to her grandfather and imagines the magically circuitous route her messages take. Will she ever receive a response?
